Royal Salute was created in 1953 to mark the coronation of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The name of this exceptional Scotch Whisky comes from the 21 Gun Royal Salute, which is fired from the Tower of London for royal celebrations.
The blend is the result of a selection of rare and exceptional Scotch whiskies, matured for a minimum of 21 years.
Part of the Chinese Lunar New Year Special Editions, this is the Year of the Rabbit 2023 release. For this release, Royal Salute partnered with renowned Chinese illustrator and visual designer, Trajan Jia, to interpret the ‘Ignite the New Year’ concept. The illustration features a stunning array of symbolic elements including drums, lanterns and celebratory streamers, knowing to bring fortune and prosperity in the coming year.

    Nose:    Powerful aromas of sweet pears and citrus fruits are balanced with the full fragrance of autumn flowers. Elegant aromas of sweet vanilla and dry oak are enhanced with subtle notes of sherry and smoke.

    Taste:    Rich, Full, deep fruity flavours with a subtle smokiness. The first taste of Royal Salute brings the subtleties of the nose to life. Sumptuous sweet orange and marmalade flavours infused with fresh pears burst across the tongue. The second taste brings in a rich medley of spices and a nuttiness of hazelnuts that have a mouth-filling intensity and then the final warmth from hints of masculine smokiness.

    Finish:   Dry and slightly spicy.
