Talisker Skye Single Malt Whisky

It all began when two brothers, Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, moved to the Isle of Skye in 1827 and acquired the lease of a farm on the west coast called the Talisker House. In 1830, the brothers opened the Talisker Distillery at the village of Carbost on the shore of Loch Harport. At the time, whisky-making was for the most part a side business operated by farms; the Isle had seven licensed distilleries and dozens of unlicensed distilleries. Today, Talisker is the only distillery on the Isle of Skye.

Talisker Skye was introduced in early 2015, named after the beautiful island on which the distillery resides. This expression brings with it a more well-rounded and sweet flavour profile packed with fresh citrus, sweet smoke, peppery spice and traditional Talisker maritime notes. An easy-drinking Talisker, taking the distillery's classically rugged character and softening it out, while maintaining the smoky and sweet notes the distillery is known for.
 

    Nose:    Sweet, red fruit, spicy, little bit of smoke.

    Taste:    Honeyed toasted oak, sappy wood, only a little pepper and smoke, apple and hints of lemon and lime.

    Finish:    Drying and slightly less sweet, hints of spice and smoke.
