Universal Music Australia The Kills Keep On Your Mean Side Cd
The Kills and Midnight Boom exploded in 2008 but fans will always burn a flame for Keep On Your Mean Side. The debut album that started it all for the duo and spawned a love affair across the globe with dark, dirty, searing, garage punk. After random meetings and sending each other mixed tapes across the Atlantic, Alison Mosshart (VV) moved herself to London to start writing with Jamie Hince (Hotel). Slapping together a couple of broken amps and two dollar guitars from a junk shop, they bunkered down for the next five months, eventually emerging with a handful of scuzzed up, pared down blues tunes for some live shows that would become the blueprint for The Kills. Recorded in just 18 days at East London's Toe Rag studios, the album's 12 tracks encapsulate the sound and attitude The Kills are now renowned for: fervent, gritty, visceral and intense.
