Overview

3 Legged Thing Jay Kit is a travel tripod system with AirHed Cine Video Head with Standard Plate. Jay is a carbon fibre tripod system with an adjustable levelling base and detachable legs, very compact and has a folded length of just 40.5cm, making it perfect to take with you anywhere. Equally useful for video makers or landscape photographers, Jay is the first levelling-base tripod designed specifically for travel.

The AirHed Cine is 3 Legged Thing's first dedicated video head. Precision milled from aerospace-grade magnesium alloy, and featuring a distinctive spiderweb design, the AirHed Cine has an adjustable, tilt mechanism that offers smooth movement and can be controlled directly, or with the included panning arm. The head features a friction control for the tilt mechanism, knurled clamp knob for improved grip and leverage, and a 360 panning base which can be locked off as required.

With a contoured, easy-to-adjust levelling base, and built-in bubble level, Jay helps video and image-makers get a level set-up on even the most challenging terrain.

In The Bag
With a folded length of just 40.5 cm (15.9") Jay is compact enough to be carried inside a camera bag or cabin luggage.

Smooth Operator
Jay's contoured levelling base features a dual-purpose D-ring which acts as the easy-to-adjust friction control for the leveller, as well as an attachment point for accessories or ballast.

Versatile & Modular
With 3 detachable legs which can be used as monopods or boom arms, Jay's levelling base can be converted to a tabletop / low-level tripod, or a foot stabiliser for the monopod, by adding 3LT footwear (sold separately).

Rigid & Strong
Jay has been engineered with a new style of Chicken Lips (shims) that give the leg locks greater strength, grip and formidable anti-rotation.

Rapid Latch
The new Rapid-Latch angle adjustment was designed to be easy to adjust, even for those with impairments, or wearing thick gloves.

O-Pads
Our new raised O-Pads with Bubble Grip texture provide better grip, torque and water dispersant than any other leg lock on the planet.

A Range of Footwear
Jay has detachable rubber Bootz which can be replaced with any of our foot accessories, for maximum stability on any terrain, including our DOCZ foot stabiliser.

Fluid Motion
The AirHed Cine has a fluid-motion, spring-balanced tilt action, and ultra-smooth panning, for precision cinematography and tracking.

Detachable Arm
The panning arm can be removed, or moved between left and right hand, giving maximum versatility for all users.
