Overview
The Sky-Watcher 200/1000 Explorer BD EQ5 is a powerful telescope with a 200mm aperture, allowing for detailed exploration of planetary features and revealing numerous deep-sky objects like nebulae, galaxies, and clusters. This telescope collects 816 times more light than the unaided eye, and under good conditions, the resolution can reach 0.60'. This enables incredible observations of Saturn's rings, features on Mars, the intricate atmosphere of Jupiter, and the phases of Venus. Globular clusters will unveil thousands of stars, while nebulae will display filaments of gas floating in the dark sky. Additionally, the fast f/5 focal ratio makes it ideal for astrophotography.
Features
Equatorial Mount EQ5
The Sky-Watcher 200/1000 Explorer BD EQ5 telescope comes with an equatorial mount, providing the convenience of compensating for Earth's rotation. This feature is advantageous for high-resolution observation, as a single knob adjustment tracks an object across the sky. The EQ5 mount, a professional German equatorial mount, effortlessly supports the weight of the telescope. The altitude and azimuth fine adjustment knobs facilitate easy polar alignment, ensuring accurate tracking with the help of gears. The robust steel tripod enhances stability and minimizes vibrations caused by wind.
For precise tracking, optional dual-axis motors can be connected to the mount. The computerized SynScan system is an ultimate upgrade, enabling automatic pointing and tracking of over 42,000 objects in the night sky. This feature streamlines the process of locating planets and deep-sky objects, saving time during celestial observations.
Premium Imaging Performance
Sky-Watcher ensures diffraction-limited optics for exceptional quality. The primary mirror, aluminized and aspheric with a parabolic profile, delivers an optical system free from spherical aberration. The thin secondary mirror allows rapid cooling and is supported by extra-thin spider supports, minimizing diffraction spike effects on bright stars and enhancing overall contrast.
Sky-Watcher Telescopes
In late 1999 the Sky-Watcher brand was born in Canada. Today Sky-Watcher is recognised as being one of the world's largest telescope suppliers. With a mission statement like the following, it is no wonder they are one of the world's biggest brands for night gazing.
'We believe that beginners' first scopes should be not only affordable but also of the highest quality. Looking through a telescope for the first time is a magical moment and we believe in magic! We're called "Sky-Watcher": our desire is to see the worldwide community of skywatchers grow, until, one day, every person in the world can be a part of our community!
