Overview
GME AE4018K2 is a rugged, high-performance antenna whip with elevated feed to suit Australia's harsh conditions. When a strong versatile whip and elevated feed base are required, the AE4018K2 is hard to pass up. It combines a high quality elevated feed antenna base with GME's most popular fibreglass whip and a light-duty parallel style spring. The whip is made from durable fibreglass with braid and precision wound copper element, black heat shrink and polished stainless steel ferrule and is secured to the ABL002F elevated feed with a pre-terminated FME connector. With 6.6dBi gain, this antenna assembly is a fantastic all-round antenna for use where a spring option is required for constant heavy use, particularly off-road!
Is The GME AE4018K2 Antenna Right for me
Alongside considerations of Installation requirements, you need to consider the Gain Rating of your Antenna and how it will impact your use.
The AE4018K2 from GME is a 6.6dBi/medium-gain antenna, providing a more rounded, broader pattern than a high gain (8.1dBi) antenna or unity gain antenna (2.1dBi). Meaning the signal is less likely to be obstructed by obstacles such as buildings, trees or mountains. These factors make a medium gain antenna the best choice for those in suburban areas and the countryside.
