Originally made in limited quantities and savoured by a fortunate few, 18 long years of maturation have created a sublime smoothness, which is perfectly balanced with Laphroaig's trademark peat-smoke notes. So none of this luscious favour is lost, it has been bottled at 48% ABV and only barrier filtered. Quite simply a masterpiece.
Colour: Bright gold
Nose: Sweet toffee, faint spice, delicate phenols and fruit. New mown hay and peat at the finish
Body: Intense depth, exceptionally balanced and warming
Taste: Peat smoke, smooth floral scents, oaky nuttiness and lasting sweetness
Finish: Full bodied, long with a luxurious oily smoothness
