Emergency Lighting Test Unit Kit (With Key) It is a mandatory legislative requirement that any building or structure that has an emergency evacuation lighting system installed be regularly inspected and maintained in accordance with the requirements of AS/NZS 2293.2 This standard sets out the periodic inspection and maintenance procedures which are necessary to ensure that the emergency evacuation lighting system will be in a state of readiness for operation at all times and this maintenance & inspection work only be carried out by persons with suitable qualifications and experience. Unit discharge tests shall be carried out at six monthly intervals by simulating a mains failure. All luminaires and exit signs shall remain illuminated for the full duration of this discharge test. Any luminaire with a battery that cannot sustain illumination for the full duration of the test shall have this battery replaced and when fully charged retested.
