Frequently Asked Questions
-
Does it have ISOfix?
Yes, the InfaSecure Adapt is ISOfix compatible. However the InfaSecure Adapt can still be used in a vehicle that is not fitted with ISOfix, as it is also suitable for installation using the vehicle's seatbelt. -
Does it have breathable fabric?
It does! The InfaSecure Adapt More features out beautiful ActiveBamboo material, you can read more about that -
Is it machine washable?
Yes! Our ActiveBamboo fabric is completely machine washable on a cool, gentle cycle (line dry only!) and conveniently you don't have to uninstall the seat to remove the covers! Just gently pull the cover away from the press studs and pop it in the wash. -
Will this fit in my car?
The InfaSecure Adapt More is a great compact Capsule in our range and fits in a wide range of different car types. Head to your local baby retailer to test it out in person to ensure it suits your needs. -
What stroller is compatible with the InfaSecure Adapt?
The InfaSecure Adapt is compatible with a wide range of strollers such as The Jiffle, LeclerbBaby, Baby Jogger, Edwards & Co, Silver Cross, and more! You can check out the full list here, which is regularly updated as we add more compatibility to the list. -
I've heard the InfaSecure Adapt has no tether? Is this right?
That's actually not true! All capsules in Australia require the use of a top tether strap. However the InfaSecure Adapt features our unique, patented Tether Base Design, which means that once the base is fitted, the top tether never needs to be adjusted or touched to engage or disengage the capsule from the base. The InfaSecure Adapt was designed to combat the misuse of the Top Tether Strap. As reported by the authorised fitting station network in NSW, in over 75% of cases. -
Which position does the handle need to be in when installed in the car?
The handle should be rotated so that it is sitting towards the backseat of the vehicle, you will know it has been rotated far enough as it will click into position. The 'upright' position is the carry position only. -
Can it be used onboard an aircraft?
Yes it can! The InfaSecure Adapt More Capsule features a special belt path to use with aircraft seatbelts, making it aircraft approved and ready at purchase. -
How long can I use the capsule for?
This is entirely dependent on your baby and how long their torso is! The shoulder height marker is based of f an approx. large 6 month old, or an approx. average size 12 month old. The age if purely just an indication, and can differ for all babies. -
Can I purchase a second base?
Absolutely! Second bases are available in both an ISOfix compatible model and non-ISOfix compatible model. Check them out here - ISOfix base and non-ISOfix base -
Do I have to have a capsule coming home from hosptial?
Not at all! This is a common misconception that we hear and get asked a lot. There is no requirement for you to leave the hospital with your baby in a capsule. Not everyone travels home from hospital in a car and may catch public transport etc. Some also may not use a capsule and go straight to a dedicated convertible car seat, which stays in the car at all tmes. -
How long should my baby stay in a capsule for?
It's super important that baby is not in the capsule for more than 2 hours at a time due to sitting in a 'c' position, and baby should have periods of laying flat to regulate their breathing and blood oxygen level. This will often happen naturally, especially in the early days when taking baby out to change, feed, and snuggle but is something to be mindful of when deciding if a capsule and travel system is right for you. -
How do I know if a travel system is right for me?
This is a great question! This really depends on your lifestyle, your family, and your budget! Capsules are a really great option if you're out and about a lot, as you're able to transfer baby from your car to your pram/stroller without having to wake baby (hopefully!). However it's important to remember baby shouldn't spend more than 2 hours in any capsule or car seat. They're also a lifesaver if you have multiple young kids, as you're not having to worry about buckling in baby at the car, or unbuckling baby with your other kids in places like the carpark! However - they are a bigger expense compared to buying a convertible car seat as they will only last approx. 6-12 months before it's time to move to the next stage of car seat, a convertible car seat. If you're not planning to be out and about most days, or it's not within your budget - our convertible car seat range is a great place to start.
