Our design teams have developed these trousers for children who hike occasionally in cold weather. #### How will these trousers keep your child warm? We carry out a comparative study in a thermal laboratory in walking conditions in light winds (5 km/h).The comfort temperature is the calculated air temperature where 70% of users have a ""slightly warm"" thermal sensation.For these trousers, it is -2°C.However every individual feels the cold differently. #### FLEECE COMPONENT: INSULATION THANKS TO AIR The fleece component is designed to trap air in the space formed by its texture; this air acts as a natural insulator, keeping the body warm. It is the brushing of the knit fabric that traps the air. #### Component water resistance A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, warm and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products are available for this purpose in our stores. #### How to preserve the technical qualities of these trousers? Care products: spray or liquid water repellent treatment in the washing machine. To renew the fabric's water repellent-properties and optimise the garment's performance throughout its lifetime, we recommend using these products on every wash at a minimum. #### How do I choose the right kids’ clothing for snow hiking? To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle:layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry.layer 2: The second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and transfers moisture outwards.layer 3: The jacket protects you from the outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind.The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture. #### ADDITIONAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION Dyeing textiles uses lots of water, chemical products and energy. However, we enjoy wearing colour. To reduce this impact, we use the “Dope Dyed” technique where powder colour pigments are added when the yarn is produced (and not by soaking it in dye baths as is usually the case). This reduces consumption and the discharge of waste water from colouring our fabrics. These warm water-repellent trousers were designed to reduce any environmental impact.
