Our hiking designers created this NH Escape 500 23 litre backpack for your walks, hikes and everyday life. #### How is volume measured? The volume of each backpack is measured using a standard method: we fill the main compartment, as well as each pocket, with little balls. Then, we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.The main bag’s volume capacity is 23 L.We have measured the volume with the 2 water bottle outer side pockets, its total capacity reaches 25 L. #### Your comfort above all To fully enjoy your hikes, we put comfort at the heart of our product design.The back, shoulder straps & handle are comfortable because of their thickness and construction composed of different types of foam padding covered with a 3D mesh to improve ventilation & drying.The chest strap has cushioning, & its height and width is adjustable.- Back: 5 pads made from 2 types of foam (PE - PU) 15 mm thick,- Shoulder straps made from 2 types of foam (EVA - PU) 8-13 mm thick. #### 14 pockets and 3 compartments to keep you organised \- 3 compartments with numerous pockets (14), to separate and organise all your belongings,- 1 secure zipped compartment, including 2 pockets for a 15” laptop and 13” tablet, raised to avoid impact,- 5 zipped pockets, 1 6.8” phone pocket (left strap),- 2 extendible, covered bottle holders,- 1 organiser and 1 key holder,- 1 lamp holder,- 1 suitcase attachment strap. #### WATERPROOFING The components of the bag are water-repellent so that you can temporarily continue walking/hiking in light rain.Caution: this backpack is not watertight/waterproof and it does not have a rain cover.If you want to continue walking/hiking in the rain and protect your belongings, we recommend the following model: “20 to 40 L rain cover”, which can be viewed on our website, item reference 8734213. #### Outer dimensions The components of the bag are water-repellent so that you can temporarily continue walking/hiking in light rain. Caution: this backpack is not watertight/waterproof and it does not have a rain cover. #### Tested for optimal durability To ensure the bag is strong enough, we conduct laboratory tests on the components and seams, which replicate the long-term wear and tear that the backpack will endure.For example, for a fabric, we test the resistance to abrasion and tearing, the colour fastness when exposed to UV light and washing, and the waterproofing.We use these tests to guarantee the bags for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase on the receipt. #### How to adjust your backpack? \- Loosen all the straps, shoulder, stomach and chest,- Put the bag on,- Buckle the chest strap, adjust the height and width,- Tighten the shoulder straps (top to bottom),- Adjust as needed.It’s adjusted! #### How to fill your backpack? Put your heavy items in the bottom and the laptop, picnic items for example in the intended places. Pack your clothes around these items;- Place small items for daily use (phone, sun cream, map, glasses, keys, wallet, etc.) in the pockets ;- Water bottle(s) will go in the outer side pockets intended for this purpose. #### How to fill your backpack? Place the heavy items, e.g. laptop, picnic, etc., in the bottom and in the spaces provided. Pack your clothes around these items. Put the small belongings that you will use during the day (sun cream, map, sunglasses, etc.) in the pockets. Put the water bottle(s) in the outer pockets on the sides that are made for this purpose.
