More conventional than the "Little Red', also sold here, but no less delicious. Syrah and Merlot featured in a nearly 50-50 blend, with best of both worlds showing.
From The Winemaker
Big Red has plenty of blue fruit on show with a near-even split of Syrah and Merlot from Birdwood. There's a herbal edge and lovely dusting of olive tapenade, a signature of Merlot. The tannin extraction has been restrained to keep this in a cool climate style with plenty of drinkability.
About the Winery
"Wine for the people", promise Unico Zelo, and their minimal-intervention wines combine Italian styles with Australian regional expertise and a minimal-intervention approach to provide this. Winemakers Brendan and Laura Carter have operated since 2014 out of an Adelaide Hills base. Tropo is a Unico Zelo's range of fun, fresh, & "smashable" wines.
