The Philips VOIP321 cordless phone lets you use Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology to save money on your phone calls.
Even though the communication takes place using the Internet, you don't have to be at your computer, as is the case with some VoIP headsets. You can also use the VOIP321 for both your landline and VoIP calls, eliminating the need for a separate handset.
To access VoIP using this phone, all you need to do is connect up the supplied box to your PC and landline. The handset is linked to this box wirelessly so you can make and receive calls away from your computer.
The VOIP321 was launched in 2007 in conjunction with VoIP provider Skype. You can make Internet calls to your Skype contacts using the handset. It also offers support for SkypeOut. This is great news if you're already a Skype customer, however if you use another VoIP provider you'll either have to make the switch to Skype or look at another cordless handset.
This phone comes with either a single handset or two handsets.
