When it comes to games consoles, Nintendo often gets overlooked in the battle between the Sony PlayStation and the Microsoft Xbox.
However many gamers in the know realise that the Nintendo Wii is good for some gaming fun, and it costs far less than its competitors.
What makes the Nintendo Wii so innovative is its interactive element. It may not boast high-definition visuals or games with complex storylines, but it's easy to get immersed in the games that are on offer.
This is achieved thanks to the wireless Wiimote control - you use the Wiimote to wave, punch, bat, swing, drive or volley, depending on what game you're playing. For example, if you're playing Wii Tennis, you'll actually have to go through the motions with your arm - it's no wonder some Wii users are reporting weight loss and other side benefits of using it!
In fact, the Nintendo Wii is so immersive that it has opened up the world of gaming to a whole legion of new fans - young children, grandparents and even mums who previously had no interest in playing games are all getting in on it.
Given that up to four players can play at the same time, this really could be a system that suits the whole family. And it's cheaper than the other next-generation consoles - what more could you ask for?
