The Bose SoundDock for iPod was one of the original iPod sound systems to hit the market, way back when.
Several years down the track, it's still one of the most highly rated systems by music lovers around the globe.
You must be warned from the beginning that the Bose SoundDock is not a cheap system. There are many less expensive models on the market, however with iPod sound docks - as with most things - you do get what you pay for. Dock your iPod in the SoundDock as compared to a $100 system, for example, and you'll definitely hear the difference.
What's so good about the Bose SoundDock is that it's truly a portable system - it's light enough to carry around - yet still manages to pack in some serious sound quality, courtesy of Bose's proprietary sound processing technologies, which actually give your music a decent amount of bass. This is something you very rarely see with compact, portable sound systems, especially those made for iPod.
Another bonus is that the SoundDock charges your iPod while it's docked, so you'll never run out of juice. The SoundDock can also be used with non-dockable iPods (such as the shuffle) and other MP3 players using the appropriate cord, however obviously players that are connected this way won't be recharged.
