Touchscreen interfaces have made the rounds from mobiles to MP3 players-and now the PC. HP's TouchSmart computer series has released the TouchSmart IQ505.
Turning heads with its glossy 22-inch LCD display, HP's custom touch interface allows you to access information by dragging, holding and tapping your fingers on the screen. Featuring the 64-bit version of Windows Vista, as well as HP's TouchSmart interface, all it takes is a click (or a finger tap) to switch back-and-forth between the two.
The TouchSmart IQ505 comes with a bundle of software at your fingertips including TouchSmart Video and Photo for quickly sharing your pictures and video, TouchSmart Calendar for organizing your schedule, and TouchSmart Notes for both text and voice. My favourite feature, a Post-It note application, allows you to draw with your fingers and use handwriting recognition for text. The wireless keyboard and wireless optical mouse keep the clean consistency of the product.
While the novelty of a touchscreen may quickly wear off, the TouchSmart IQ505 is stylish, functional and well equipped PC for the long run.
